We’re thrilled to announce that our updated “About Us” video is now live on YouTube! 🎉 This video offers an inside look at who we are, our mission, and the technology we’re developing to enhance safety for first responders on the fire ground.
A Look Back at Our Journey
Our journey started four years ago when co-founders Alex Gorsuch and Paul Couston, both second-time founders with experience in government funding, first crossed paths. United by a shared vision to create technology that would serve first responders and warfighters, they began their work at the Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI). There, they encountered the critical challenges leadership faces in gaining insight into what’s happening inside burn structures. This video chronicles our growth from those early customer discovery days to the fully realized product we offer today, showcasing the milestones that shaped our business along the way.
Our Latest Innovation
A key highlight of the video is our current product—devices that seamlessly integrate into firefighting operations, tracking the location of leadership’s operators through the trusted and tactically ready Team Awareness Kit (TAK) platform. Ascent is enhancing this proven tool to meet the specific needs of firefighting and law enforcement, with advanced features like elevation insights, 3D maps, whiteboard capabilities, and more. Whether it’s tracking personnel in hazardous environments or monitoring biometrics, our solutions are designed with a single purpose: to save lives.
How You Can Get Involved
We believe that innovation thrives through collaboration, and we’re always looking for new ways to work with the firefighting community. Whether you’re a fire chief, a first responder, or simply passionate about fire ground safety, there are many ways to get involved.
